The NEW NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC)
NEBOSH has updated the International General Certificate – the most trusted health and safety qualification of its kind in the world. It’s designed to reflect the needs of today’s employer giving learners everything they need to know and do to make their workplace safer.
The new NEBOSH IGC syllabus has been streamlined to allow core skills to be considered in greater depth. It covers how to effectively manage health and safety, and how to identify, reduce and control the key hazards in every kind of workplace. Risk assessment is central to the IGC qualification, making sure it reflects the real-life roles people perform.

Course assessment is a two-step process
NEBOSH IGC has 2 UNITS that you need to pass.

● GIC1 – Scenario-Based Assessment
A 24-hour, Open Book Exam (OBE) that evaluates knowledge and understanding of health and
safety management principles. You can use the internet and materials and check all other resources you have during the examination.
Passing Mark: 45/100
● GIC2 – Practical Risk Assessment A practical risk assessment based on the learner’s workplace. Risk assessment template, guidelines, checklist, and other guidance for the preparation of GIC 2 will be sent once registration is successfully completed.
Passing Mark: 60/100
Both examinations will be submitted through the NEBOSH UK provided portal.
